Sir Iqbal Sacranie is an eminent British Muslim leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose illustrious career spans over four decades of exceptional service to the Muslim community in the United Kingdom and across the world. His lifelong commitment to social cohesion, economic empowerment, and interfaith harmony has earned him respect and recognition on both national and international platforms.

He presently serves as the Chairman of the Muslim Trade Forum (MTF) and the Chairman of the Global Group of Companies, a diversified conglomerate specialising in real estate, international trade, and investment. His visionary leadership extends to numerous business and charitable initiatives that focus on advancing socio-economic development and global partnership.

Sir Iqbal holds several distinguished international positions, including Board Member of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Malaysia, Vice President of the International Cooperation Platform (ICP) in Türkiye, and Patron of the World Memon Organisation (WMO). In recognition of his enduring leadership within the global Memon community, he was elected as the Senior Vice President of the Memon Leadership Forum in 2024.

A pioneer in the establishment of key Muslim institutions in the UK, Sir Iqbal was the Founding Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) in 1997, and continues to serve as a Senior Advisor to the organisation. His contributions have also extended to humanitarian and civic spheres, having served as Chair and Trustee of Muslim Aid, one of the UK’s foremost international relief agencies, and as Advisor to three former UK Home Secretaries, guiding policy on community relations and engagement.

For his outstanding services to the community, charity, and interfaith understanding, Sir Iqbal was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1999 and was subsequently knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2005. Over the years, he has received numerous national and international accolades recognising his exceptional contributions to public life, peacebuilding, and global economic cooperation.
